> Overview


The AROSAETC system -as developed during the project phase- comprises several treatment processes along the MRO process for engine blades. The objective of the Specific Targeted Research Project AROSATEC was the development of an “Automated Repair and Overhaul System for Aero Turbine Engine Components”. To achieve this objective, we have enlisted several international partners representing different domains of knowledge for the project. The project team consists of software specialists and partners possessing special expertise in scanning, milling and welding technology.

Several typical examples of turbine components which must be overhauled on a regular basis are shown in Fig. 1:
